We are incredibly grateful to the GCWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club for sponsoring a member of the Wewahitchka Sound of the Swamp Band to attend the Troy University Music Leadership Camp. Thanks to their generosity, we now have enough funds to send all of our selected student leaders to the camp this summer.
The Troy University Music Leadership Camp is a week-long experience that equips student musicians with the tools to lead their bands with confidence, creativity, and purpose. From drum major training and sectional leadership classes to masterclasses with university faculty, students will gain valuable insights in conducting, communication, team building, and musicianship. Beyond the classroom, they’ll build friendships with fellow student leaders from across the region, creating memories and skills that will last a lifetime.
This opportunity would not be possible without the incredible support from our local community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed—whether financially, by sharing our efforts, or by cheering us on throughout the year. Every act of support helps us grow stronger, and this camp is just one example of how your generosity directly impacts our students’ growth.
As we prepare for an exciting new season, we remain committed to building a program that reflects the pride, talent, and heart of Wewahitchka. Thank you again to the GCWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club and to all who continue to invest in our future.
